For the last 5 years, I have been teaching people how to cook delicious food at my home, and I also run food workshops such as the Pierogi Power Workshop, Fermentation Workshop and more. Recently I was the host of a big food event for The Krakow Pierogi Festival and Harvest Festival. (I also appear regularly on TV and radio as a guest, discussing subjects related to home cooking, the sharing economy and food tech.) I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of my beautiful hometown, and more about the art of Polish cuisine, both through the website and with all the wonderful travellers I meet in person.
My grandmother and my mother were great cooks. That means delicious, home-made food freshly-prepared.
Restaurants are great, but sometimes it seems it would be better to enjoy a home-cooked meal with someone who can also tell me a bit more about their experiences, their lives and their cities. So, I’ve decided to do exactly that. I cook for up to 14 people at my home in Krakow and you’re invited. Please join me!
My daughter Mary and I had a wonderful meal, prepared by Marta, and served by her and her husband Mark at their apartment in Krakow. Everything was delicious, and Marta was gracious enough to make a special dish for Mary who is a vegetarian. The evening was very special, with other guests including a couple from Scotland, a younger couple from Chicago, and a young woman from Hungary. (Mary and I are from West Virginia in the U.S., and Mary is currently living in Scotland.) All in all, a great time for everyone.
Great meal with drinks, very nice guests from different countries, friendly hosts, good value for money. Uber taxi back to the city.
We had a great time with Marta and family out in the Polish countryside, just 45 minutes from Krakow. After a few months of travelling it was wonderful to get a (5 course) home cooked meal. Iwona and Marta cooked up some great Polish classics, all of which were eaten in an idyllic setting in great company. We even got a proper croquet lesson from Mark between courses followed by a wild mushroom hunt. Good times!
We had a wonderful time with you that evening. We enjoyed the meal, the place you live, the company and above all - meeting you Marta and Mark. We will not forget your warmth and hospitality. We felt like you were our family. Best regards to you, I will be happy to meet you again (hopefully in Israel).
Marta and Mark are the most gracious of hosts, but also wonderful, warm people & Marta's food was absolutely delicious. I was only in town for the one night, having been there for work and I wouldn't have spent my night any other way. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a genuine, insightful and local experience and would do it again in a heartbeat!
Wczesnym popołudniem wsiadłem do samochodu wraz z dwójką znajomych i ruszyliśmy w kierunku Brzeźnicy. Zanim jednak poczuliśmy zapach przygotowywanych potraw, do naszych nozdrzy wraz z powiewem wiatru dochodziły zapachy kwitnących w ogrodzie drzew i krzewów.
Thank you so much Marta and her family!! It was a wonderful experience and I had such a great time. Marta was a fantastic chef, so I really enjoyed the food. Also, the atmosphere was great too. I met nice people as well. I highly recommend Marta's meal for all of you!!
Everything was just what you hope for - but seldom are lucky enough to achieve. Martha's cooking was sublime: melt in the mouth duck that I will try (and fail) to emulate. The company was great, the wine flowed freely and the overall ambience was home from home (without the need to do the washing up)! A truly fantastic experience that I will genuinely treasure
That was a great experience, wonderful and warm people. Beside the excellent food and drinks, we learned a lot about the country through the eyes of locals. That was fun and very enjoyable time! thank you so much.
It was a most wonderful and enjoyable evening. Mark and his wife Marta were most hospitable. It was great wining and dining in their lovely very comfortable Polish home. We certainly recommend it to visitors.
We had an unexpectedly lovely evening! Marta and Mark are natural hosts, their home is warm and inviting, the food was great and the company was really entertaining. It was just what I needed on a Wednesday evening after a hard day at work, and put me in a good mood for the rest of the week.
We had a wonderful evening in the company of Mark and Marta in their cosy home in a really nice and special area. We had a lot to talk about and the food was absolutely delicious. It was good and traditional polish homemade food with a nice touch of different herbs from their own garden. We enjoyed every moment but one advice: Arrive hungry!!!
Such an incredible experience! Marta and Mark were so incredibly hospitable and fun. They made this an extremely memorable experience for my girlfriend and I. We have since, very excitedly, recommended the evening to others as well! Food was delicious and we felt very welcome in Marta and Mark's home.
