Hi, I'm a co-founder of Eataway which connects people with home cooks and hosts all around the world. For the last 5 years, I have been teaching people how to cook delicious food at my home, and I also run food workshops such as the Pierogi Power Workshop, Fermentation Workshop and more. Recently I was the host of a big food event for The Krakow Pierogi Festival and Harvest Festival. (I also appear regularly on TV and radio as a guest, discussing subjects related to home cooking, the sharing economy and food tech.) I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of my beautiful hometown, and more about the art of Polish cuisine, both through the website and with all the wonderful travellers I meet in person.
My grandmother and my mother were great cooks. That means delicious, home-made food freshly-prepared.
Restaurants are great, but sometimes it seems it would be better to enjoy a home-cooked meal with someone who can also tell me a bit more about their experiences, their lives and their cities. So, I’ve decided to do exactly that. I cook for up to 14 people at my home in Krakow and you’re invited. Please join me!
Once again, a special thank you for making "an evening with Marta" so very special.We thought we were learning to make Pierogi's but we walked into a full meal also including stuffed cabbage and ho made cheese cake with four other visiting Americans. Marta is so special and passionate for her cooking, entertaining and love of sharing. We would recommend such an evening for anyone who wants to find out what good food and friends are all about.. Ten Stars for sure.

Such a great morning with Marta, a lovely way to experience Polish food
Our experience on our very first night in Kraków was one of the very best experiences of the entire trip. Marta was so interesting and fun to talk to, the food was delicious and the pierogi instruction and making was fun.
I am still dreaming of Marta's Pierogi. :-) On very short notice we were lucky to be able to book the pierogi workshop with Marta. Besides the cold beetroot gazpacho, the stew and the perfect cheesecake with salted caramel sauce we ate during our dinner, we learned how to make pierogi from scratch. My friends and I think eataway is a very good opportunity to get to know the people and the country much better. Thanks a lot for for having us!
Cannot recommend this enough. Marta is so sweet and wonderful, and the experience was absolutely delightful. One of the best experiences I had in Poland. Plus now I know how to make pierogi!!

We had a very good meal at Marta’s. I think the first dish was herring, which I was thinking I would not like; but it was excellent. The beet soup was also excellent, and the stroganoff was very good. There were other vegetables, whole carrots, asparagus spears and cabbage. I couldn’t figure out how we were to eat them, because we only had the deep bowls in which the stroganoff was served. I would have eaten more of them had I had a plate. Dessert was a cheesecake in the style of New York cheesecake, which Marta said actually ordinated in Kraków. It was very light, and my husband, who does not like cheesecake all that much, said he thought it was great. So all in all the food was quite good, and it really did seem like good home cooking. And things certainly were fresh, as promised. I also enjoyed hearing Marta’s explanations of how she did the cooking. I think what was lacking was more people. There was one other couple and also a journalist, who joined us for the meal but did not contribute much to the conversation. Mark, Marta’s husband, arrived at dessert time and added some energy to the mix. A few more folks and it would have seemed like a party. Eataway got us out of the tourist area and gave us a local experience. It’s an excellent concept and we wish it well!
My family enjoyed a cooking class with Marta on May 10th. What a terrific time we had. This may be the one experience we all will remember and reminisce about for years to come. The night was entertaining, fun and informative. We all LOVED it. Thank you Marta for giving us this great experience. The night started out with a Vodka toast and ended with Krakow Cheesecake with a lot of pierogi in between!! It doesn't get any better than that!!
