A delicious street food snack that can be found in strategically placed little blue carts all over the city, this traditional Krakowian bagel is not only historical and endemic to the city, but also bloody delicious! Baked fresh every day by early rising bakers, they are then distributed around Krakow to the iconic blue wagons from which gently smiling older ladies and gentlemen will sell them to hungry passersby. Staying put until their cart is empty, 7 days a week. Try them topped with poppy seeds, sesame, linseed, cheese or salt. Today, an average of 150,000 are sold in Krakow every day while their ‘bagel’ brethren have long been popular in America, emigrating with Krakow’s Jewish community to New York. We will be preparing together real Obwarzanki ( bagel's) Cooking with fun!

For the last 12 years, I have been teaching people how to cook delicious food at my home, and I also run food workshops such as the Pierogi Power Workshop, Fermentation Workshop and more. Recently I was the host of a big food event for The Krakow Pierogi Festival and Harvest Festival. (I also appear regularly on TV and radio as a guest, discussing subjects related to home cooking, the sharing economy and food tech.) I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of my beautiful hometown, and more about the art of Polish cuisine, both through the website and with all the wonderful travellers I meet in person. My grandmother and my mother were great cooks. That means delicious, home-made food freshly-prepared.Restaurants are great, but sometimes it seems it would be better to enjoy a home-cooked meal with someone who can also tell me a bit more about their experiences, their lives and their cities. So, I’ve decided to do exactly that. I cook for up to 14 people at my home in Krakow and you’re invited. Please join me!

We had an absolute blast cooking with Marta through Eataway! She was such a warm, welcoming host, opening her home to us for a fantastic, hands-on evening in Kraków.

Learning to make three distinct types of pierogi from scratch—from getting the dough just right to pinching them closed—was so much fun. Marta is a patient, engaging host who gave us a true taste of Polish culinary tradition. Sitting down together to enjoy the delicious feast we made was an unforgettable highlight of our trip.

If you are in Kraków, booking an evening with Marta is an absolute must!

The Pierogi workshop with Marta was awesome! We absolutely loved the session! From the introduction, making the dough, making the pierogis, and finally eating them! She even prepared other dishes for us! All in all, it’s a top star recommendation!

After making the dumplings, we were also served everything from appetizers to dessert, and everything was delicious. If you’re visiting Kraków, I would definitely recommend this as a great experience to try!
