Wigilia - or Christmas Eve - is one of the most important holidays in Poland. The meal shared on WIgilia is one with no meat and there is always an empty space left at the table for the 'unexpected guest.' Come and share in the traditions of a Polish Wigilia meal and learn why there is straw underneath the tablecloth, why we share oplatek (Christmas wafer), and why animals talk on this special night. Since this is Christmas Eve, the meal is free. Donations to offset the price of the food will be gladly accepted.

I am a psychologist who moved to Poland from the US over 3 years ago with my husband. Following his death, I moved around Poland a bit but now I am back in Krakow - the most beautiful city in Poland! I have always loved to cook and worked for a catering company while attending college. I still love hosting people at my home and cooking for them while sharing stories. My parents are originally from Poland and it has always been my dream to live in Poland and now I am fulfilling that dream.I have learned some of the ins and outs of Gdansk and other Polish cities and would be very happy to share some tips with you as well as sharing a meal. Whether making homemade Polish food taught to me by my mother and grandmothers, or American classics - especially Tex-Mex fare - I find sharing food with strangers makes you friends instantly.

There was a lot of tasty finger food perfect for a party and I really loved shrimps in garlic. However, I missed a typical Eataway atmosphere. It was more of a party and interaction with a host was very limited. I had a feeling that host ignored Eataway guests.

One of the most interesting New Years parties that I have been to! It was fun to talk with local expats and the food was tasty and plenty. I definitely recommend!

Had a wonderful evening at Karen's for Thanksgiving! The food was delicious and there was so much of it. She didn't miss a thing, the perfect, traditional, American Thanksgiving! Thanks again Karen!
