"Gość w Dom, Bóg w Dom" ("A Guest in the Home is God in the Home")
Easter in Poland is the most important holiday, even more important than Christmas. The entire week before Easter is called Holy Week, and during that time there are a lot of things going on here. 40 something years ago I was born on Palm Sunday / you aren't just lazy-you are super lazy : ) and I always go to the church around this time with my palm. Some of the villages and small towns organise Holy Palm competitions. The most special one takes place in Lipnica Murowana, a beautiful village located next to Nowy Wiśnicz where I went to Art School. On Saturday in the morning we hard boil eggs and dye them with brilliant colours and engrave patterns on them. Probably one of the most enduring and beloved Polish traditions on Holy Saturday is blessing the food that will be eaten during the Easter feast. In front of the church priest blesses food brought by locals by sprinkling holy water waving incense over baskets with a

For the last 12 years, I have been teaching people how to cook delicious food at my home, and I also run food workshops such as the Pierogi Power Workshop, Fermentation Workshop and more. Recently I was the host of a big food event for The Krakow Pierogi Festival and Harvest Festival. (I also appear regularly on TV and radio as a guest, discussing subjects related to home cooking, the sharing economy and food tech.) I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of my beautiful hometown, and more about the art of Polish cuisine, both through the website and with all the wonderful travellers I meet in person. My grandmother and my mother were great cooks. That means delicious, home-made food freshly-prepared.Restaurants are great, but sometimes it seems it would be better to enjoy a home-cooked meal with someone who can also tell me a bit more about their experiences, their lives and their cities. So, I’ve decided to do exactly that. I cook for up to 14 people at my home in Krakow and you’re invited. Please join me!
Amazing and delicious in every way. My favorite activity in Krakow. Truly special!

After making the dumplings, we were also served everything from appetizers to dessert, and everything was delicious. If you’re visiting Kraków, I would definitely recommend this as a great experience to try!
Marta's class was great! She has a wonderful kitchen and was very welcoming. We learned a lot about the polish culture as well as how to make three different pierogis. It's a very hands on class and you'll learn a lot.
Had a wonderful time learning how to make pierogi with Marta! She was very knowledgeable and all of the food was amazing!
Meeting Marta and learning to cook pierogis with her was the highlight of our Krakow trip. She is an amazing person, chef and artist (not only in the kitchen, ask her about it!). The class is very well organized, in a beautiful kitchen surrounded by art. This is a very pleasant brunch activity (you...

The class is very well organized, in a beautiful kitchen surrounded by art. This is a very pleasant brunch activity (you leave well fed, and the pierogis are delicious!) and you can then go for an after-lunch walk through a forested park up the hill to get a beautiful view of the city.
Beautiful home, amazing pierogis, loved the hands on experience. You make all the dough and shape it! And Marta had great recommendations of how to get around the city and where to go.
