Poles and Jews shared one land for over 1,000 years, and the extraordinary influence these two different cultures had on each other can be experienced through their shared recipes. Icons of Polish cuisine are also mainstays of Jewish cooking, and in this class we will concentrate on making the famous challah bread, as well as tasting some other important dishes. The class is a hands-on experience, showing each stage in detail, as well as discussing the historical roots from which the recipe comes. All in all, the class takes around 3 hours, and participants will be able to leave with their own home-baked challah!

For the last 5 years, I have been teaching people how to cook delicious food at my home, and I also run food workshops such as the Pierogi Power Workshop, Fermentation Workshop and more. Recently I was the host of a big food event for The Krakow Pierogi Festival and Harvest Festival. (I also appear regularly on TV and radio as a guest, discussing subjects related to home cooking, the sharing economy and food tech.) I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of my beautiful hometown, and more about the art of Polish cuisine, both through the website and with all the wonderful travellers I meet in person. My grandmother and my mother were great cooks. That means delicious, home-made food freshly-prepared.Restaurants are great, but sometimes it seems it would be better to enjoy a home-cooked meal with someone who can also tell me a bit more about their experiences, their lives and their cities. So, I’ve decided to do exactly that. I cook for up to 14 people at my home in Krakow and you’re invited. Please join me!

Highly recommend! Marta is lovely, very knowledgeable and the pierogi were delicious! We made two varieties! I learned a lot and am excited to try at home. You also receive a full course dinner and the rest of the food was wonderful too!

One of the highlights of our vacation. Just a perfect local experience, that was active, fun and so yummy! Marta is an incredible chef and instructor and she seamlessly coodinated, taught and prepared. Not only are you making Pierogis, you are being fed the most delishious homemade food and some fun with local vodka! Just like sitting in the kitchen with a good friend. Absolutely a 10/10, a must do experience!! Thank you Marta.

Such an enjoyable evening. Not only is Marta an amazing Chef, but she is also an amazing conversationalist with such interesting stories. We did this with our two teens and all equally enjoyed the class. Thank you, Marta, and best wishes!

We thoroughly enjoyed our lesson with Marta. Not only were her instructions excellent, but the results were great, and the additional food items served with our pierogi were a nice surprise! Her kitchen alone is worth a visit! Her price for the class is very fair and reasonable.
