Experience a Turkish Family's Daily
Traveling is more than seeing old buildings, we all agree on that, right?
We have limited time and a lot to visit, learn and experience.
I believe dinners are the shortcuts to daily culture of a society!
Here is my suggestion; Come to my place, let's have a dinner together and ask me as many as you can while eating my grandmother's recipes.
Here are some sample dishes I can offer :
Starters
Su Böreği : In other words; princess of Turkish cuisine. And yes, I make it myself :)
Hummus : Who doesn't love hummus?
Yoghurt Soup

Kibbeh (içli Köfte) : This is a south-anatolian dish with bulghur and roasted minced meat with cinnamon.

Chicken Stew with Vegetables : Served in crocks.
Dolma : Stuffed Vegetables

Mercimek Köftesi : Red Lentil Balls

Semolina Pudding : After having a pretty heavy Turkish dinner, you will definitely need that refresher, light and milky pudding.
Extras:
* I make minimum 8 dishes and almost all of them have stories. I serve them while telling you about their stories or historical backgrounds.
* I live in this magnificent old town Uskudar, and I love to guide it to my guests. Let's schedule it together before or after meal and have a 2 hours Uskudar tour together.

Next to my home, there is a 400+ years old mosque and right across my window is a 400+ hamam. So, I would like to have a neighbourhood tour with my guests before or after meal.I have studied and worked both in Istanbul and Tokyo. After working in technology start ups for years, I have promoted to being a full time cook! Asude's passion for culinary doesn't just stop at her cooking, she has a whole library of books to back up her findings! Ask her about what the Ottomans had on their menu when they had guests over in the 19th Century ;)
