Let’s keep this sweet tradition alive! For the eighth time, we are going to prepare huge amounts of doughnuts - as always we'll be cooking at the Children's Home at Parkowa 12 in Krakow - to celebrate Fat Thursday – one of our favourite Polish traditions.
Have you ever tried to make your own doughnuts? How about 2000 of them? Many of our cooks, including Konrad, Gosia, Cyna, Aga, Weruszka and Gregory have accepted the challenge of cooking through the night to have them ready as fresh as can be the next day!
Like last year, every single one of our doughnuts holds a very special meaning. When you order a box of doughnuts for yourself, you will be raising money for the Children's Home in Parkowa. Everything you pay will go towards building a new garden for the very youngest children at the home. This new garden is next door to Parkowa 12 (where we built the original garden)
How it works:
1. You can order as many boxes of fresh doughnuts as you want (each box is 8 doughnuts).
2. On Thursday 16th of February, you are welcome to come over and collect them (between 6am and 12 midday) from the Children's Home at Parkowa 12 and say hi! If you order 10 boxes or more we will be glad to deliver them to you in Krakow for free if you prefer.

For the last 5 years, I have been teaching people how to cook delicious food at my home, and I also run food workshops such as the Pierogi Power Workshop, Fermentation Workshop and more. Recently I was the host of a big food event for The Krakow Pierogi Festival and Harvest Festival. (I also appear regularly on TV and radio as a guest, discussing subjects related to home cooking, the sharing economy and food tech.) I’ve always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of my beautiful hometown, and more about the art of Polish cuisine, both through the website and with all the wonderful travellers I meet in person. My grandmother and my mother were great cooks. That means delicious, home-made food freshly-prepared.Restaurants are great, but sometimes it seems it would be better to enjoy a home-cooked meal with someone who can also tell me a bit more about their experiences, their lives and their cities. So, I’ve decided to do exactly that. I cook for up to 14 people at my home in Krakow and you’re invited. Please join me!
Amazing experience!
Really terrific workshop with Marta. We enjoyed meeting our fellow travels and making pierogies. Marta also gave us a slice of the most delicious cheesecake. Highly recommend to all.
The most delicious food and fun we’ve had on a trip! 8yrs later and we still talk about it.
Not sure why this review request came through to my email in 2026 when I did this workshop in 2018. However, I have the most wonderful memory of the fun evening shared with a partner and two good friends, the other workshop attendees and Marta. We all felt so warm and welcomed into Marta's home...

However, I have the most wonderful memory of the fun evening shared with a partner and two good friends, the other workshop attendees and Marta. We all felt so warm and welcomed into Marta's home. It was a wonderful experience with the most delicious food! We learnt a lot, it was hands on cooking and extras like trying various flavoured vodkas was incredibly fun. Thank you for a memory that even today I smile in my heart when I think about it. Lisa :)
