Małgorzata: Although I qualified as an architect my career was actually focused on... fashion design. I still design clothes for friends and family and occasionally on commission.
Piotr: I worked as an architect for 40 years and now retired. My main occupation, actually by chance, became preserving food at home.
We both enjoy cooking albeit in different styles and according to different recipes. Malgorzata often cooks according to five elements theory, as well as gluten-free and vegetarian. Piotr cooks according to his intuition which is spot on as he improvises often and can surprise even the most sophisticated foodies. And since we both prepare a lot of food preserves, we have now accumulated a large cupboard of compotes, jams, chutneys, caramelised fruit and veg and gherkins which we often use in our recipes.
We live in an old flat in central Krakow together with our cat and a large number of plants that are scattered along every window to get as much light as possible.

I don’t remember the amount of courses we had, but they were all exquisite - with a special mention for the homemade bread and the vegetarian cabbage rolls. After dessert, with a glass of wodka or 2 (or 3, or 4...) the stories started coming, which somehow left us with a deeper understanding of Polish history and culture then all the museums we visited so far.

Last month we had a meal with by Malgorzata and Piotr. Their food was fantastic, foods I didn't think I liked, I liked when Malgorzata and Piotr prepared the food! They are lovely people, it was great spending time with them as well. I even took my 8 month old and they were so kind and helpful.

This was our second visit to Margaret and Peter, they were the perfect hosts and the food and company were superb. We hope to revisit Poland and Margaret and peters will be top on the list to do. Great food and drink, the homemade liquors are definitely medicinal!

My daughter and I recently enjoyed a fantastic evening at Piotr and Malgorzatas' who couldn't have been better hosts. They welcomed us into their home, which is in the centre of Krakow, and served us with wonderfully authentic Polish food which we loved. The whole idea for going was to eat and experience something different and our expectations were certainly met. We were served various courses, all delicious, along with soft drinks as well as wine (of which there was plenty) - Piotr kept my glass nicely topped up! They were never short of conversation and we learned a lot about Krakow and it's history as well as about them and their family. My daughter loved their pet cat and the evening was ended with various rounds of local Digestives. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and highly recommended.
